આણંદ: આયુર્વેદનાં એક્સપર્ટનાં જણાવ્યા અનુસારઆપણે બધા એટલું તો જાણીએ જ છીએ કે ઓછું ખાવાથી વજન ઘટે, વધુ ખાવાથી વજન વધે. આ સિવાય તમને એ પણ ખબર છે કે રોજની દિનચર્યામાં થોડો શ્રમ કે કસરત આવે તો વજન ખાસ વધે નહીં.આ સિવાય તમે આખો દહાડો દોડધામ કરો છો અને કંઈ વધારે ખાતા નથી તો પણ વજન કેમ વધ્યા કરે છે.

જાણો વજન વધવાના કારણો:

અપૂરતી ઊંઘ:

પુખ્ય વયની વ્યક્તિ ને  6 થી 8 કલાકની ઉંઘ જોઇએ. તમે ઊંઘવાના અને ઉઠવાના સમયમાં નિયમિત હો તો તમારે જરૂર છે. તેટલી ઊંઘ તમને ચોક્કસ આવશે. પણ અફસોસની વાત એ છે કે તમારા ઊંઘવાના અને ઉઠવાના સમય રોજ બદલાય છે, જેના કારણે તમે પૂરું ઊંઘતા નથી. મોડા સુધી જાગવાના જાણીતા કારણે મિત્રો કે ઘરના સાથે બહાર ખાવા પીવા જવાનો કાર્યક્રમ હોય કે 2 કે 3 કલાક સુધી હાલ્યા કે ચાલ્યા વગર બેસી રહેવાની અને વચ્ચે વચ્ચે આચરકૂચર ખાવાની ટેવ. આવી ટેવને કારણે વજન વધે છે. મોડી રાત સુધી મોબાઈલમાં વીડિયો-ફિલ્મો કે વેબસીરિઝ જોવામાં પણ સમય ક્યાં પસાર થઈ જાય છે તે ખબર પડતી નથી. આ કારણો પણ હવે અપૂરતી ઊંઘમાં ઉમેરાયા છે.

માનસિક તણાવ:

 આજના જબરજસ્ત પોલ્યુશન અને પોપ્યુલેશનના જમાનામાં માનસિક તનાવ (સ્ટ્રેસ) તો સૌ કોઇને હોય. તમે સ્ત્રી હો કે પુરુષ આ બન્ને કારણો ઉપરાંત સામાજિક કારણોને લીધે માનસિક તનાવ વિશેષ હોય આને લીધે તમારા શરીરમાં એક ખતરનાક હોર્મોન 'કોર્ટિસોલ' નીકળે. આને લીધે તમને રોજ કરતાં ભૂખ વધારે લાગે અને તમે જે મળે તે (પોષણ કે કેલરીની ચિંતા કર્યા વગર) ખાઈ જાઓ એટલે વજન વધે.

દવાઓની આડઅસર: એ. માનસિક તનાવ દૂર કરનારી કેટલીક દવાઓ (એન્ટીડિપ્રેશન્ટ)થી તમારો માનસિક તનાવ દૂર થાય એટલે તમને સારું લાગે ( ફિલિંગ ઓફ વેલ બીઇંગ ) એટલે તમે વધારે ખાઓ એટલે વજન વધે.

બી. સ્ટેરોઇડ પ્રકારની દવાઓ

શરીરમાં કોઈ પણ ઠેકાણેથી સોજો ઉતારવા માટે ડોક્ટરો 'સ્ટેરોઇડ' પ્રકારની દવાઓ આપે છે. આવી દવાઓની ખાસિયત એ છે કે તેનાથી ભૂખ ખૂબ લાગે એટલે તમે ખાવા માંડો  આવી દવાઓને કારણે શરીરમાં પાણીનો ભરાવો થાય અને તેનાથી પણ વજન વધારે થાય.

સી. હાઈપોથાઇરોઇડિઝમ:

આ રોગમાં થાઈરોઇડ ગ્રંથિમાંથી થાઈરોઇડ હોર્મોન ઓછો નીકળે એટલે તમારી ચયાપચયની ક્રિયા (મેટાબોલીઝમ) ધીમી પડી જાય આને લીધે તમારું વજન વધે.

મેનોપોઝ:

સામાન્ય રીતે 38થી 48 વર્ષના ગાળામાં સ્ત્રીઓમાં માસિક આવવાની ક્રિયા ધીરે ધીરે બંધ થાય આને કારણે શરીરની ચયાપચયની ક્રિયા (મેટાબોલીઝમ) ધીમી પડી જાય એટલે કેલરી ઓછી બળે અને તેનાથી સ્ત્રીઓના શરીરમાં પેટ, નિતંબ, સાથળ અને પીંડી ઉપર ચરબી જામે એટલે તેઓ જાડા તો લાગે જ પણ તેમની શારિરીક પ્રવૃત્તિ ધીમી પડી જાય. એટલે કે ઘરમાં કે બહાર ચાલવાની કે કોઈ શારિરીક શ્રમ કરવાની શક્તિ ઓછી થઇ જાય.

રોગથી વજન વધે:

એ. પોલિસીસ્ટિક ઓવરી સિન્ડ્રોમ નામના રોગમાં સ્ત્રીઓમાં હોર્મોનનું પ્રમાણ વધઘટ થાય (હોર્મોન ઇમ્બેલેન્સ) થાય તેને લીધે પેટ પર ચરબી વધે.બી. કશિંગ સિન્ડ્રોમ નામના રોગમાં 'કોર્ટીસોલ' શરીરમાં વધારે પ્રમાણમાં ઉત્પન્ન થાય જેને કારણે આગળ જણાવ્યા પ્રમાણે વજન વધે એટલે કે મો પર, ડોકીના પાછળના ભાગ (બોચી), બરડાના ઉપરના ભાગમાં અને કમર પર ચરબી વધે દમ, સાંધાના વા અને લૂપસ નામના રોગ માટે જ્યારે તમારા ડોક્ટર સ્ટેરોઇડ આપે ત્યારે કશિંગ સિન્ડ્રોમ નામનો રોગ થાય.

સ્મોકિંગ:

સામાન્ય રીતે એવું જોવા મળ્યું છે કે સિગારેટ કે તમાકુનું વ્યસન તમે એક દમ છોડી દો ત્યારે વજન વધે પણ આ પ્રકારનો વજનનો વધારો કામચલાઉ હોય છે.

ખાસ ધ્યાન રાખો:

જો તમને એમ લાગે કે તમારું વજન તમારા શરીરની કોઈપણ જાતની તકલીફ કે રોગ માટે તમે જે દવાઓ લેતા હો તેને કારણે વધતું હોય ત્યારે પણ તમારા ડોક્ટરને પૂછ્યા વગર તમે લેતાહો તે દવા એકદમ બંધ ના કરશો.

વજન વધવાના અન્ય કારણો:

1.જરૂરી કેલરીથી વધારે ખાઓ કે પીઓ તો વજન વધેપુરુષો માટે શરીરની કેલરીની જરૂરત 2000છે તમે 2000 કેલરી ઉપરાંત ફક્ત એક કપ એકલા દૂધમાં બનાવેલી ચામાં બે ચમચી ખાંડ નાખો તો તેની કેલરી 200 થાય. આખો મહિનો ફક્ત એક કપ આવી ચા પીઓ તો તમે 6000 કેલરી વધારે લીધી ગણાય. 6000 કેલરી બરોબર 4 કિલો વજન વધે.

2. તમે કસરત બિલકુલ ના કરો તો વજન વધે.

કસરત ના કરો તો કેલરી બિલકુલ ના બળે એટલે જાણે અજાણે તમારો બેઝલ મેટાબોલિક રેટ ઘટી જાય એટલે વજન વધે.

વજન ઘટાડવા આટલું કરો:

૧. ખોરાકમાંથી ખાંડ અને મેદો અને તેલ બંધ કરો. 2. ખોરાકમાં પ્રોટીનનું પ્રમાણ વધારો. 3. સ્નાયુની કસરત વધારો વજન ઊંચકવા, જોગિંગ, એરોબિક્સ વગેરે કરો. 4. જમતા પહેલા 2 કે 3 ગ્લાસ ઠંડુ પાણી પીઓ. 5. ભૂખ લાગે ત્યારે એક કપ ચા કે કોફી પીઓ તેનાથી તમારો બી.એમ.આર. વધશે. 6. ઓછી કેલરીવાળા ખોરાક લીલા શાકભાજી તાજા ફળો લો.

ખાસ બાબત: બેઝલ મેટાબોલિક રેટ (બી.એમ.આર.) એટલે શું?

તમે કોઈ પણ જાતની શારિરીક પ્રવૃત્તિ ના કરતાં હો ત્યારે પણ તમારા શરીરને પોતાના અંગોના કોષો ને કાર્યરત રાખવા માટે જે શક્તિ જોઇએ તેને 'બેઝલ મેટબોલિક રેટ કહેવાય બેઝલ મેટબોલિક રેટ ગણવા માટે તમારું વજન પાઉન્ડ માં હોય તેને 11 વડે ગુણી નાખો. ધારો કે તમારું વજન 60 કિલોગ્રામ છે તો 60 ટ 2.2= 132પાઉન્ડ 132 ટ 11 = 1452 આટલો તમારો બેઝલ મેટબોલિક રેટ કહેવાય એનો અર્થ એટલો કે તમે કોઈ પણ જાતની શારિરીક પ્રવૃત્તિ ના કરી હોય ત્યારે પણ તમારા શરીરના અનેક અંગોને કાર્યરત રાખવા આટલી કેલરી મળે તેટલો ખોરાક તમારે ખાવો જોઇએ.

વજન ઘટાડવા કેટલો ખોરાક લેવો?:

આપના દેશના વાતાવરણ અને આબોહવાને ખ્યાલમાં રાખીને પુરુષોએ 2000 કેલરી જેટલો અને સ્ત્રીઓ એ 1800 કેલરી જેટલો ખોરાક લેવો જોઇએ.

વધારે વજન એટલે શું?


1. તમારો બી.એમ.આઈ 19 થી 24 હોવો જોઇએ તેને બદલે ૨૫થી વધારે હોય. 2. તમારું વજન પુરુષ માટે 70 કિલોગ્રામ અને સ્ત્રીઓ માટે 60 કિલોગ્રામથી વધારે હોય.

વધારે વજનના કારણે કયા રોગો થાય ?

1. ડાયાબિટીસ, 2. બ્લડ પ્રેશર, 3. હાર્ટ એટેક, 4. બ્રેઇન એટેક અથવા સ્ટ્રોક 5. સાંધાનો વા, 6. ચામડીના રોગો, 7. હોર્મોન ગ્રંથિની તકલીફો, 8. કેન્સર.
